“Cupid”, Episode 1

Using virtual reality in narrative storytelling presents a set of challenges for the genre. When the story is in 360 degrees, what tools can you use to drive viewers’ attention and the story? That's what director and VR influencer Nick Bicanic tried to find out with "Cupid." This virtual reality action series, complete with stunts, quick edits, and lots of camera movement, tells the story of a modern-day Cupid. Spherica worked with RVLVR to produce the first Episode, which tested the limits of Spherica's equipment and filming techniques when exploring fast-paced camera action in scripted narrative. The result? Beautiful moving shots filmed with Spherica's hardware stabilized rover and Z Cam S1 camera open the Episode. "Cupid" successfully premiered on Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR.
